• B.S., Indiana University
• Graduate studies at California State 
• In 2008, graduated from the two year program as a Fellow of the Virginia Coordinated School Health Leadership Institute
• 30 year RN career
• 18 years with Fauquier County Public Schools, currently School Health Coordinator for the division
• Supervises 23 school health employees
• Appealed to the School board for funding to support a licensed nurse in every school; approved for 2009-10 school year where there are 16 RNs and 7 LPNs
• Campaigned for an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in every school
• Instrumental in having FCPS become one of the few American Heart Association school system sites in Virginia
• Ms. Trude along with 8 other instructors have certified over 1,000 students and employees in basic life support at no charge
• Instrumental in the adoption of a district-wide school wellness policy
• Established the Working on Wellness (WOW) Award presented by the School Health Advisory Board
• Formed school walking clubs and after-school biking programs
• Wrote the school health manual
