The Virginia Association of School Nurses (VASN) has agreed that members of the association must belong to both VASN and the National Association of School Nurses, Inc. (NASN).

Membership dues are collected and managed at NASN's national headquarters.

VASN Membership Categories

Active

Available for registered professional nurses who meet Virginia’s criteria for certification/licensure and have as primary assignment, the administration, education, or the provision of school health services.

Retired

Any Active or Associate member of VASN, upon retirement shall be eligible to become a Retired member upon notification.

Associate

A licensed nurse who serves with the primary assignment, the administration, education, or the provision of school health services, but is who not eligible for active membership, may be an associate member

Student

Must be enrolled in a professional nursing program to meet requirements to become a school nurse, or a student not currently a nurse in a professional nursing program.
